The Nikon ZR Cinerig Base (OMNIA Edition) is our universal OMNIA rig, shipped with a Nikon ZR-sized screen protector in the box. Every other camera system gets the same cinema rig you've seen on Caleb Hoover, Ed Prosser and Josh Cameron's builds — this edition just adds the large screen shield that fits the ZR's bigger 4" LCD.
One thing, and one thing only: the large universal screen protector included in the box is sized for the Nikon ZR's 4-inch rear LCD. The rest of the rig is the same OMNIA that fits Sony, Panasonic, Canon, Nikon and Fujifilm mirrorless bodies — so if you change cameras later, the rig comes with you.

Why one rig beats one-per-camera
Competing systems lock you into a single camera body. Buy a rig for your ZR, then buy another one when you pick up an FX3 for a client job. Shoot two bodies on one shoot? Buy two.
OMNIA is built around a universal chassis with an ARCA quick-release base. Attach the base plate to any supported camera, flick the lever, and the body drops into the rig. Thirty seconds to switch between a Nikon ZR and a Lumix S5IIX on the same shoot. Same rig. Same power. Same controls.
Power where you need it
The integrated battery plate runs V-Mount or Gold Mount packs. Four D-Tap outputs on the plate feed monitors, wireless video, lights, follow-focus motors, or anything else on your build — 10 amps max across the four outputs combined. An optional USB-C PD cable powers the ZR directly from the V-Mount — no dummy battery, no second power source.
A recessed Master Power switch on the rig isolates the battery completely — zero current draw when switched off, and nothing buried on a separate accessory.
Built to last a career, not a shoot
OMNIA is machined from 6061-T6 aluminium and hard-anodised in one of five finishes. The structural parts are solid metal — not plastic, not 3D-printed composites. Drop it, rain on it, shoulder it in and out of a Pelican for five years — it will still be square, still be straight, still hold every 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 thread you bolted into it on day one.
Every rig is built, tested, and inspected in our Melbourne workshop before it ships.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a different rig to the regular OMNIA?
No — the chassis is identical. The Nikon ZR Cinerig Base (OMNIA Edition) is the standard OMNIA Universal Cinema Rig with a Nikon ZR-sized large screen protector added to the box. If you change cameras later, the rig fits Sony, Panasonic, Canon, other Nikon bodies and Fujifilm mirrorless — you don't need a new rig.
Why is the ZR edition more than the baseline OMNIA?
The only substantive difference is the inclusion of the large screen protector sized for the Nikon ZR's 4-inch rear LCD. That's what the small price difference covers.
Do I need a separate cage?
No. OMNIA is a complete cinema rig — the chassis is the cage. You don't need to buy a SmallRig, 8Sinn, SHAPE or Tilta cage on top. Every mounting point, cold shoe, 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 thread you'd need is already machined into the rig.
What's the difference between V-Mount and Gold Mount?
V-Mount (Sony-style) and Gold Mount (Anton Bauer-style) are competing battery plate standards. They're interchangeable in function — pick whichever matches your existing batteries. V-Mount is more common in mirrorless/indie film workflows. Gold Mount is more common in broadcast and US rental houses. Both plates have 4× D-Tap outputs (10A max total).
How does OMNIA power my Nikon ZR?
The V-Mount or Gold Mount battery plate feeds four D-Tap outputs for accessories (monitor, wireless video, lights, motors). To power the ZR body itself, use the optional USB-C PD cable — it runs from a D-Tap straight into the camera's USB-C port. No dummy battery, no second power source, one battery runs your entire build.
How fast can I switch cameras?
Under 10 seconds once each camera has the ARCA base plate attached. Flick the lever, lift the first camera out, drop the second one in, lock the lever. On-set camera swaps that used to mean rebuilding your rig are now a single action.
Where is OMNIA made?
OMNIA is designed in Melbourne, Australia. CNC machining is partner-manufactured to our specification; anodising, assembly, testing and quality control all happen in our Melbourne workshop before shipping.
What if I'm unhappy with it?
Warranty returns are accepted within 12 months for manufacturing defects. Change-of-mind returns are not accepted — we can't resell a used rig at full retail, and we prefer to keep the upfront price low rather than build returns overhead into it. Read our full refund policy before ordering.
